Hello all, I have been working on my gauge cluster for the Mustang and am stuck on two possible layouts. 3 3/8" tach is centrally mounted because racecar. 4 other gauges include oil pressure, coolant temp, fuel level, and a digital speedometer. They are all 2 1/16". Fuel, coolant, and oil match the black with silver bezel of the tach while the speedo is all black with black bezel. The speedo will be close to the tach. I want to keep it simple and purpose built looking.
Here are the choices...the cardboard represents the gauges FYI

Orrr W for winning?

M will be more easily visible through the steering wheel
and it's metal :)

I'd go with M for metal. Also rotate tach so redline is straight up for true because racecar. Also rotate oil & temp so needle is straight up when running normally for added because racecar points. Fuel gage with needle pointing straight down on E?
Unless you're using this for your DD, then put everything in so that the writing is horizontal because readability.

I tried straight up and down but it just didn't look quite right since I want the speedo close to the tach.

My vote is for the bottom layout!

I like your thinking! One of my past coupes I put a monster tach in and rotated it as such so redline was vertical and many asked about it but liked it!

hold the wheel up and position the holes so they are visible when driving...put the ones at the top as the most important. is oil pressure or temp a concern for this engine? or is speed and fuel? I would put speed up there if its a road car. the other one up there oil p. or temp depending on what will be the potential issue you intend on seeing most often.....

I am leaning toward the W. Speedo to the left of the tach since the needle will be pointing that direction while cruising. Temp to the right. Fuel and oil pressure on the top two positions as I shouldn't have issues with that and don't have to monitor a fuel gauge all the time.

Top follows the steering wheel which is much better. Rotate the tach so your shift point is at 12 o'clock.

I like the look of the first one. It looks less busy to my eye, or easier to grasp where the gauges are. If I looked down at them I think it would be easier to process the information quickly with the first layout.

I'll rotate it tonight and see if it looks ok. It is an elite series tach so it has a built in shift light in the perimeter of the bezel :)
